Inside the Sunsail BVI Owner Flotilla
Welcome to the British Virgin Islands, one of the world’s ultimate sailing hubs and home to the largest charter base on the planet: The Moorings and Sunsail. After a five-year break, the much-anticipated Moorings and Sunsail Owner Flotilla has finally made its return. This exciting event brought together 70 owners, both new and experienced, for five days of unforgettable time on the water, creating the perfect setting to make new friends and swap tips and stories. Dive into our day-by-day recap and get a taste of the excitement for yourself.
Day 1: Kick-off celebration and neon night at Loose Mongoose
We started with a relaxed welcome reception at the pool bar, where everyone enjoyed mimosas and a chance to get to know each other before setting sail for Trellis Bay. The iconic Loose Mongoose then hosted a Neon Night to remember, with guests arriving in their brightest outfits and getting stuck into a lively evening of musical bingo with Dab That Tune. The combination of dancing, singing and prizes made it a brilliant way to kick off the flotilla.

Day 2: Regatta racing, cocktail creativity and happy hour
Ready, set, sail. With light winds and no engines allowed, owners had the chance to show off their sailing skills on a short regatta course around Great Dog. Afterwards, we made our way to North Sound for a fun cocktail-making competition and a laid-back happy hour, rounding off another fantastic day in this Caribbean paradise.

Day 3: Beach games at Ivan’s Stress-Free Bar, White Bay, JVD
Glorious sunshine and soft sand called for some friendly rivalry. At Ivan’s Stress-Free Bar on White Bay, we organised relay races and a tug-of-war that kept everyone laughing all afternoon. Later on, Christine Joseph’s Moorings and Sunsail Owner Trivia put everyone’s knowledge to the test, adding a competitive twist to the day’s beachside fun.

Day 4: Pirates and mermaids on Norman Island
No trip to the British Virgin Islands is complete without a jump from the legendary Willy T’s at Norman Island, and our crews didn’t hold back. The fun continued ashore as pirates and mermaids took over Pirates Bight for a lively happy hour. We even ran a contest to see who could deliver the best Captain Jack Sparrow impression, with extra prizes for the most convincing performances.

Day 5: Snorkelling at The Indians and 70s send-off on Peter Island
We began the final day with snorkelling at The Indians, exploring the vibrant reef and its colourful marine life. Our last stop was Ocean’s 7 on Peter Island, where we wrapped things up with dinghy races and a 70s-themed farewell dinner. The evening finished with light-hearted superlatives and plenty of dancing, leaving everyone with lasting memories and an appetite for the next flotilla.

We’re incredibly grateful to the fantastic group of owners and friends who made the long-awaited return of The Moorings & Sunsail Owner Flotilla so special.
